Pierre Gerbais L’Audace Brut Nature NV

Blanc de Noirs cuvée, L’Audace is composed of 100% Pinot noir from 70-year-old vines of the lieu-dit (single-parcel) Sainte Marie. Named after its audacious and daring inception, L’Audace was one of the first cuvées to be made sans soufre (unsulfured) in Champagne, under the innovative craftsmanship of Aurélien Gerbais after his arrival at the Domaine in 2011.

An immediate bouquet of oyster shell and sea foam flows steadily into aromatics of red apple, apricot, white flowers, dried mango and hot brioche. On the palate, L’Audace is structured, vinous and spicy with essences of apple, red plum, lemon peel, cream and almond over a lasting finish teeming with chalky minerality and trickles of caramel and spice

Hill Smith Estate Wild Ferment Chardonnay 2017 Adelaide Hills

Pale gold with green tints. This wine shows fragrant aromas of white peach, nectarines and citrus zest with underlying hints of roasted nuts and struck flint. The palate is refined and elegantly structured with layers of fresh stone fruit and Meyer lemon zest. The fine, creamy texture is underpinned by a mineral, acid restraint which drives the palate to a long, refreshing finish. With time in bottle the palate will develop further richness and complexity.

Guy Amoit Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018

Since 1920 generation after generation the Amiot family have plunged their roots in the soil and terroir of Chassagne-Montrachet. Arsène and Flavie Amiot founders of the estate initiated a wine vocation that has reached the 4th generation represented today by their great grand sons Thierry and Fabrice.

In the nose a fresh scent of apples, pears, soft orchard fruit and minerality. Due to the subtle aging of the wood, these scents are nicely balanced with the taste that offers a refined nuttiness and a juicy acidity.

Domaine Chavy-Chouet Meursault Les Vireuils 2018

The 2018 Meursault Les Vireuils has a lovely nose of menthol-tinged citrus fruit that gains intensity with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with well-judged acidity, vivid orange zest and citrus notes and a precise, mineral-driven finish. This is a superb Les Vireuils.

Domaine de la Grosse Pierre Chiroubles ‘La Grosse Pierre’ 2018

Domaine de la Grosse Pierre is located on the granite slopes of Chiroubles in the heart of Beaujolais vintages. An elegant, subtle, and delicate entry-level Chiroubles that delivers outstanding value for its price point. Sparkling ruby color. Its bouquet is fruity and floral.

Burn Cottage Otago Pinot Noir 2015

Wonderfully complex aromas of fern leaf, rhubarb, potpourri and rose petal contrast with more mineral notes of dust, graphite and gravel. The palate possesses a lovely sweet attack without ever becoming cloying and melts into supple, fine tannins which need a few years to completely marry to the wine. Nevertheless, the overall impression is silky and sensual. Excellent acidity lends great vibrancy to the palate and the wine ends on a long, lingering finish. The rich, silky completeness shows the great potential of this property.
